Virtual RobotX (VRX) Competition 2022
The Virtual RobotX (VRX) Competition is an international, university-level event designed to expose students to autonomous maritime technologies through a Gazebo-based simulation platform. Organised by RoboNation in collaboration with the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR), Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), and Open Robotics (OR), VRX provides a free, open-source environment where students can develop and test autonomous solutions for maritime vehicles.
NTU’s team secured 3rd place in the VRX Competition 2022, finishing just 1 point behind the second-place team. Along with the third-place prize of USD $1,000, we were honoured with multiple accolades, including:
Remarkable Video Submission Award
Biggest Leap in Ranking (Phase 2 to Phase 3)
Phenomenal Open-Source Contributor
Fee Waiver for the 2023 RoboBoat Competition
These accomplishments reflect our team's commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of autonomous maritime systems.
